Description
The Rheumatology Research Foundation’s Resident Research Preceptorship introduces residents to rheumatology through a full-time, in-depth research experience with an established rheumatology professional. The program aims to attract promising physicians to investigative careers in the field, using a one-on-one, real-world learning experience to build interest in rheumatology research.
The award supports three months of mentored research relevant to rheumatic disease, including basic or clinical research. Residents identify a research preceptor and propose a project with specific aims, research activities, and learning goals. The experience may include research seminars, rheumatology rounds, relevant coursework, and interactions with other faculty or investigators. It is a research elective for which residents must be excused from clinical duties.
