Summary: Financial incentives for installing new grid-connected energy storage systems in New York State, with additional support for disadvantaged communities.
Key Information: Applications only accepted from approved Participating Contractors; incentives may run out before deadline.
This program supports the deployment of new grid-connected distributed energy storage systems for both residential and nonresidential (retail/commercial) customers across New York State. Incentives are structured as fixed-rate payments per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of installed system energy capacity and are available to projects either as standalone storage or paired with new or existing clean on-site generation (e.g., solar, fuel cells, combined heat and power). Higher incentive rates are available for projects serving disadvantaged communities through the Inclusive Storage Incentive (ISI) tracks. Funding is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and is only available to projects installed by approved Participating Contractors.
