Description
This program funds the development and implementation of evidence-based substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and aftercare programs within Maryland state, local, and tribal correctional and detention facilities. It also supports community reintegration services for individuals transitioning back into society after incarceration. The goal is to break the cycle of drugs and violence by reducing substance abuse, supporting rehabilitation, and improving reentry outcomes. Eligible programs must incorporate evidence-based practices and may include residential, jail-based, and aftercare components. Priority is given to projects partnering with community-based treatment providers.
