Description
The Community Foundation of the New River Valley’s Responsive Grant Program is an annual program supporting ongoing or emerging community needs identified by organizations serving those needs directly. General operating support gives grantees flexibility to direct resources where they are needed most, rather than limiting funding to a prescribed project or expense. In 2026, the program offered only general operating support grants.
The program serves community work across the New River Valley, including outreach operated by religious institutions and directly operated programs of eligible civic or membership organizations. CFNRV prioritizes nonprofits demonstrating strong management, a clear track record of accomplishments, and a process for measuring effectiveness. Applicants describe their mission, community impact, operational challenges, and specific strategies for addressing those challenges.
