The program also helps inform Foundation donor-advised fundholders about community needs and nonprofit impact. --- ## Due Dates - Applications open March 9, 2026. - Rolling deadline: requests are accepted and reviewed as received, until funds are fully allocated. - Funding decisions are typically shared within 15–20 business days of submission. - Early application is strongly encouraged as funds may run out before the end of the year. --- ## Funding Amount - Maximum grant: $10,000 - Grant duration: One year - Only one request per organization per year is allowed - Grants may be used for operating expenses or specific projects - Partial funding may be awarded in some cases --- ## Eligibility **Eligible applicants:** - 501(c)(3) public charities operating in New Hampshire or select bordering areas of Maine and Vermont - Non-501(c)(3) organizations with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor - Religious-based nonprofits (for non-sectarian, community-benefiting activities) - Organizations headquartered outside the service area but implementing programs in eligible communities **Not eligible:** - Private, non-operating foundations - Private, operating foundations - Public, charter, and private schools - Hospitals - Colleges or universities - Municipalities - State government agencies - Non-501(c)(3) organizations without a fiscal sponsor - Organizations that received a multiyear Community Grant awarded in December 2024 or a Community Grant in December 2025 - Recipients of initiative-based, invited, or Tillotson Local/Large grants from NHCF **Special notes:** - Organizations focused on substance use disorders may apply only if not already funded by invitation in this area. - Recovery houses must be certified and in good standing with NH Partnership for Recovery Residencies (NHPRR). - Start-ups, grassroots, or emergent organizations may apply with a fiscal sponsor. --- ## Application Process 1. **Determine eligibility:** Review program guidelines and FAQs. 2. **Register or log in:** Access the [GrantSource portal](http://nhcf.smartsimple.com/) to create or update your organizational profile. 3. **Complete the application:** The application is brief and focuses on describing the organizational, project, or community need and how funding will help, as well as how your organization builds inclusive community. 4. **Submit required documents:** Upload financial information and, if applicable, a financial trends analysis and/or strategic plan. 5. **Review and decision:** Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; decisions are communicated within 15–20 business days. 6. **Award and reporting:** If awarded, funds are distributed by check.
