    Description

Restack supports work to deliver, mature and scale operational internet commons into Connected Collaborative Computing networks (3C). Its scope spans libre chips, middleware without vendor lock-in, productivity tools, local-first infrastructure and end-user applications. It welcomes both new technologies and improvements to existing, future-proof technologies with practical, real-world impact.

Supported by the European Commission through Horizon Europe, Restack operates as a cascade funding programme, with NLnet Foundation handling grants. Its priorities include secure and privacy-friendly infrastructure, software supply chains, reproducibility, interoperability, standards, service deployment and trust-enhancing technologies. The goal is a robust, reproducible Open Internet Stack that strengthens digital autonomy and enables permission-free innovation.
