Description
The Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB) funds projects that provide a public benefit by protecting or restoring native fish and wildlife habitat, ecosystem function, or natural watershed functions. Projects must improve water quality or stream flow. The program supports work in instream, riparian, upland, wetland, and estuarine habitats, including fish passage, floodplain reconnection, vegetation restoration, invasive species treatment, and improvements to wetland hydrology.
OWEB considers a project’s ecological benefits alongside its watershed context, technical approach, applicant capacity, and cost effectiveness. Review teams also consider expected benefits to the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds.
