    Description

The Long Island Sound Community Impact Fund (LISCIF) is a partnership among Restore America’s Estuaries, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the Long Island Sound Partnership. It provides technical and financial assistance to communities addressing environmental issues and improving the quality and accessibility of Long Island Sound. The fund aims to build capacity in organizations serving communities affected by environmental and human health risks, support community-driven work, and reduce environmental health risks.

The 2027 round supports pollution prevention and reduction, coastal habitat restoration, wildlife, public engagement, resilience, community-based science, and data management. Planning and design work that prepares water quality, habitat restoration, and resilience projects for implementation is also supported. Priorities align with four Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) themes: clean waters and healthy watersheds, thriving habitats and abundant wildlife, sustainable and resilient communities, and an informed and engaged public.
