Description
This bursary is designed to assist researchers who are resuming their academic research careers after a break of two or more years. The funding supports activities that help applicants develop a proposal suitable for submission to the STFC fellowship scheme. Eligible costs include literature reviews, familiarisation with equipment and techniques, attendance at meetings and seminars, and travel or care expenses associated with visiting a host institution. The aim is to facilitate a smooth transition back into research and increase competitiveness for future STFC fellowships. Recipients are expected to either submit a proposal to the STFC fellowship scheme or provide a report on their activities and outcomes if a proposal is not possible.
