Description
NYSERDA administers the Department of Energy State Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund to increase adoption of qualified energy efficiency improvements in New York State. The program expands access to low-cost financing through participating contractors, which reserve funds for eligible homeowner customers. It supports qualified energy audits and improvements in existing single-family residences, rather than research awards.
Projects must be recommended by a qualified energy audit and meet program cost-effectiveness requirements. Eligible improvements include insulation, air sealing, programmable and smart thermostats, efficient lighting, air-source and ground-source heat pumps, and heat pump water heaters. Audit-recommended health and safety measures may also qualify when the overall project satisfies retrofit requirements. The program aims to improve building efficiency, occupant comfort, indoor air quality, and management of peak energy demand.
