    Description

Florida Housing Finance Corporation’s RFA 2026-216 supports construction of large-scale affordable rental housing developments that form part of an existing formal master plan of significant regional impact. The master plan must include substantial civic, educational, or health care uses within or contiguous to the proposed development, and may include commercial uses. County or municipal participation must create a unique investment opportunity enabling a significant amount of affordable housing.

The affordable housing development should be a component of the broader master plan, rather than its driving force. Regional impact is assessed through the plan’s ability to benefit populations across more than one government jurisdiction. This opportunity provides construction financing, not research funding. The program page currently posts draft application materials and workshop resources.
