Description
Launched in 2013 by Tencent and the China Computer Federation (CCF), the Rhino Bird Fund connects young scholars worldwide with industrial research needs. It supports work intended to improve quality of life and move research results into practical use. Scholars may work with real business scenarios and data, open research-and-development resources, and industry experts.
The 2026 program set out 43 research topics across seven areas of frontier artificial intelligence, including large language models, multimodal models, autonomous and multi-agent systems, and trusted data. It also included a database initiative focused on software infrastructure. The fund’s broader research themes include natural language processing, cybersecurity, big data, and computer vision.
