Rhode Island Life Science Hub (RILSH) is a quasi-public state entity created in 2023 to grow Rhode Island’s life sciences community. It connects academia, industry, clinical care, and capital to translate innovation into economic growth and improved health. Its funding portfolio supports translational science, technology validation, academic spinouts, clinical research capacity, healthcare technology pilots, and high school life sciences education.
RILSH also supports laboratory access at Ocean State Labs, Rhode Island’s first life science incubator, and works with out-of-state and international companies seeking to establish operations in the state. These are separate programs with different applicant requirements and funding structures, rather than a single grant competition.
