Description
The Rhode Island Agricultural Energy Grant Program helps farms reduce energy use and costs through energy efficiency improvements and renewable power. The Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER) manages the program in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM). Funding comes from Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative auction proceeds.
The program supports clean energy projects at agricultural operations across Rhode Island. Eligible technologies identified in program guidance include solar photovoltaics, small-scale wind, biomass, insulation, LED lighting, HVAC systems, automatic temperature controls, variable-speed equipment, and solar thermal. Applicants proposing another technology can contact OER for an eligibility determination.
