Description
The Cassen Postdoctoral Mentoring Award is administered by the Education and Research Foundation for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (ERF). Established through a bequest from the estates of Benedict Cassen and Mary Wiley Cassen, it supports junior scientist faculty members in recruiting postdoctoral fellows to conduct research in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. The award helps early-career scientists gain mentoring experience and develop preliminary data for federal or other competitive research funding.
The fellow works under the junior faculty member’s supervision, with assistance from a senior faculty member or principal investigator. A senior mentor at the same institution provides overall administrative and research guidance. Recruiting fellows from relevant disciplines outside nuclear medicine and molecular imaging is encouraged, but not required.
