Description
The University of Colorado Boulder’s Research & Innovation Office (RIO) administers travel grants to help faculty and eligible staff build relationships with extramural sponsors. Visits may involve government, foundation, or industry sponsors and support discussions of an investigator’s research or scholarly direction and the technical aspects of projects. The goal is to expand CU Boulder’s research, creative work, and scholarly enterprise.
The program also supports meetings or workshops specifically designed to bring faculty together with sponsor representatives, and supplementary expenses for adding sponsor visits to existing travel. RIO prioritizes efficient travel arrangements and relationships across a wide array of sponsors. Ordinary scholarly or scientific meeting attendance is not supported, although exceptional requests involving prearranged, formal one-on-one sponsor meetings and considerable cost savings may be considered.
