    Description

The Rising Tide Foundation for Clinical Cancer Research (RTFCCR) supports evidence-based, hypothesis-driven interventional clinical trials in supportive oncology. The program funds non-disease-directed approaches to preventing and managing the adverse effects of cancer and its treatment, including palliative oncology and physical and psychological symptoms. Its goal is to improve quality of life and quality of care for patients and caregivers while helping early-career investigators become competitive for independent investigator awards.

The program addresses limited funding for young researchers and a shortage of high-quality trials tackling disease and treatment burden. It encourages phase I–II trials, pragmatic and cluster randomized trials, comparative effectiveness studies, repurposing off-patent compounds, and studies involving geriatric or pediatric populations. Patient partners must help develop applications and remain actively involved throughout the trial.
