Summary: Supports patient-centered clinical or translational radiation oncology research in Switzerland to improve outcomes, reduce treatment burden, and enhance care delivery.
Key Information: Applicants must be based at a Swiss institution and be members of SASRO.
This joint initiative of the Scientific Association of Swiss Radiation Oncology (SASRO) and the Rising Tide Foundation for Clinical Cancer Research (RTFCCR) supports innovative, patient-centered radiation oncology research in Switzerland. It helps investigators generate preliminary data for future national and international funding applications, with particular encouragement for early-career investigators.
Projects must address at least one of three objectives: improving treatment efficacy, disease control, survival, or other clinically meaningful outcomes; reducing acute or long-term toxicities, preserving organ function, or improving quality of life; or improving the efficiency, accessibility, or delivery of radiation oncology care without compromising safety or effectiveness. Research must actively involve patients or patient advocacy groups, offer a clear pathway into clinical practice, and have potential for broader application beyond Switzerland, particularly in resource-limited settings.
