    Description

The Royal Microscopical Society (RMS) offers Standard Travel Bursaries to help eligible members attend conferences and workshops where they will present work involving microscopy. The scheme is aimed at early career researchers, normally within 12 years of graduating, and people employed in microscopy or cytometry support roles. Presentations may be oral papers or posters.

The bursaries support meeting participation rather than a separate research project. Conference-related costs include travel, registration and living expenses, with award limits determined by the distance between the applicant’s workplace and the meeting. Where the bursary cannot cover all attendance costs, RMS expects it to help leverage additional support from elsewhere. Recipients must submit a short meeting report for possible publication in the Society’s magazine, infocus.
