The Rob Schorling Memorial Fund at the Greater Salina Community Foundation assists individuals and families facing expenses related to treatment for leukemia, lymphoma, bone marrow transplants, and stem cell transplants. Support may cover medical expenses not covered by insurance, as well as travel and lodging needed to obtain treatment. The fund aims to ease the financial burden of care for patients and their families.
The Schorling family established the fund in spring 2002 in memory of Rob Schorling, who died after receiving a bone marrow transplant. Family, friends, and community members had raised money for his transplant, and the family used the remaining funds to help others facing similar circumstances.
