The Robert Holland Jr. Award honors outstanding senior scientists in chemistry, physics, astronomy, or closely related physical sciences for their sustained excellence in research, teaching, and mentorship. This award, established in memory of engineer and executive Robert Holland Jr., seeks to broaden the perspectives and diversity of the Cottrell Scholar community by recognizing scholars whose backgrounds and contributions are underrepresented. Recipients are welcomed as full members of the Cottrell Scholar community, invited to present at the annual Cottrell Scholar Conference, and become eligible for additional collaborative and leadership opportunities within the network.
