The Robert Holland Jr. Award honors senior scientists who have demonstrated exceptional creativity, excellence in research and teaching, and a strong commitment to mentorship—especially those whose backgrounds and contributions are currently underrepresented in the Cottrell Scholar community. Recipients are welcomed into this interdisciplinary community, participate in the annual Cottrell Scholar Conference, and are eligible for further collaborative and leadership opportunities. The award celebrates the legacy of Robert Holland Jr., an influential engineer and corporate executive, and is designed to amplify the impact and leadership of outstanding scholars in chemistry, physics, and astronomy.
