Description
The Institute of Historical Research (IHR) offers this 12-month fellowship in memory of Dr. Robert Mcintosh, reflecting his commitment to education as a social good. Hosted within History & Policy, it supports an early career historian in developing policy-focused skills, outputs, networks, and collaborations grounded in their doctoral research. History & Policy is a national network of more than 500 academic historians and an independent forum promoting better public policy through greater understanding of history.
The fellow develops activities exploring how historical insights and skills can benefit national, regional, or local-government policy-makers, or organisations seeking to shape policy. Activities may include publications, podcasts, and online or in-person seminars and workshops. The programme aims to strengthen the fellow’s public engagement profile and expand career possibilities both within and beyond universities.
