Description
This award, established by the Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and Education (TSFRE) with support from Intuitive Inc. and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, aims to expand equitable access to robotic thoracic surgery expertise. It provides general thoracic surgeons or senior cardiothoracic residents—especially those who have overcome adversity, demonstrate financial need, or serve rural/underserved populations—with a unique opportunity for hands-on experience, mentorship, and advanced training in robotic general thoracic surgery. The program includes structured mentorship, observation, proctoring, and advanced training courses at Intuitive facilities, all designed to help recipients build or grow a robotic surgical practice in their communities.
