Description
This award, supported by the Thoracic Surgery Foundation for Research and Education (TSF) in partnership with Intuitive Inc. and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, is designed to advance equity and access in robotic thoracic surgery. It provides general thoracic surgeons and final-year cardiothoracic surgery residents with mentorship, hands-on training, and financial support to help establish or expand a robotic general thoracic surgical practice. The program prioritizes applicants who have overcome adversity, demonstrate financial need, or serve rural or medically underserved populations.
Awardees will participate in a structured educational experience, including observation and mentorship by an established robotic thoracic surgeon, on-site training at Intuitive-affiliated facilities, and completion of advanced courses. The goal is to foster skill-building and expand access to robotic thoracic surgery in areas where it is most needed.
