Description
The Rolex Explorers Club Grant supports original field exploration that advances science, deepens understanding of the environment, and connects history to the future. Administered by The Explorers Club through its longstanding partnership with Rolex, the program supports young explorers addressing novel scientific, environmental, or historical questions. It is open across field science disciplines, including natural history, ecology, archaeology, and glaciology.
Projects must include a travel or exploration component and demonstrate a spirit of exploration, a clear scientific rationale, and potential for significant impact or new understanding. Supported work has included acoustic tracking of endangered sharks, exploration of a new Mongolian fossil locality, manatee conservation in Cuba, glacier research in Svalbard, and investigation of historical ruins. Education and outreach also feature in the program, including collaboration with the Club and its education partners.
