--- ## Description This annual award honors an outstanding original research paper published in the previous two volumes of the _Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry_ (JASMS). The award recognizes high-quality presentation and significant contributions to the field of mass spectrometry, commemorating Ron Hites, a founding figure of JASMS and past ASMS president. The principal author receives a monetary prize, and all co-authors receive certificates of commendation.
