Description
The Rosel Schewel Fellowship from Virginia Humanities supports writers, artists, cultural workers, and community scholars working on stories of women in Virginia. Named for an advocate for women’s rights, education, and racial justice, it seeks projects that bring women’s lived experiences, movements, struggles, and achievements to public attention.
The fellowship encourages creative, novel, and meaningful public engagement. Work may take the form of a digital project, publicly accessible archive, book, scholarly article, exhibit, podcast, or oral history. Fellows present their project or developed research to a public audience in coordination with Virginia Humanities.
