Description
The Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship helps UK universities and not-for-profit research institutions recruit outstanding emerging or established international research leaders and their teams from overseas. It provides long-term, flexible support for high-quality research in fields the host considers strategically important, strengthening research and building a critical mass of excellence in UK departments and institutions.
The fellowship is aimed at mid- and senior-career researchers with established, independent research programmes and significant contributions to their fields. Research must fall within the Royal Society’s natural sciences remit, including biological and biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics. Funding can support research expenses, research staff, PhD studentships and salary enhancement, alongside relocation and visa costs. Fellows can also access career development, leadership, science communication and public engagement opportunities.
