Description
CalRecycle’s Rubberized Pavement Grant Program promotes markets for recycled-content surfacing products derived from California-generated waste tires. It aims to divert tires from landfills, prevent illegal tire dumping, and encourage first-time or limited users of Rubberized Asphalt Concrete (RAC) Hot-Mix and Rubberized Chip Seal (RCS).
Eligible work includes roadways, Class 1 bikeways, greenways, and disability access at parks. Greenways are corridors along natural landscape features serving pedestrians, bicycles, non-motorized transportation, or recreation. Parking lots, walking trails, sports courts, and alleyways also qualify, subject to material minimums. Smaller projects may be combined to meet those minimums.
