Description
The Rukeyser Reporting Grants Program provides seed funding to support international freelance reporting projects by early-career journalists who are former recipients of the Overseas Press Club (OPC) Foundation Scholar Award. Recognizing the shift from staff positions to freelance roles in international journalism, this program aims to help talented journalists overcome financial barriers that often prevent important global stories from being pursued. The grant is named in honor of William Rukeyser, a distinguished editor and OPC Foundation board member, whose legacy funds the initiative. Projects may be in print, photo, video, or audio formats and are judged by the OPC Foundation board and Reporting Grants Committee.
