Description
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), in partnership with the RUNX1 Research Program (RRP), supports early-career basic and translational scientists studying inherited hematologic malignancy predisposition, with a focus on RUNX1 familial platelet disorder (RUNX1-FPD). The three-year award funds strategies leading to therapies that prevent progression from pre-malignancy to overt hematologic malignancy while cultivating a new generation of investigators in this field.
Priority goes to proposals that translate findings from bench to bedside or inform the timing and targeting of preemptive intervention. Research interests include inflammation, clonal vulnerabilities, restoration of RUNX1 function, genomic instability, and emerging epigenetic or signaling dependencies. Collaboration and resource sharing are central to the program, and recipients present progress at the annual RRP scientific meeting.
