Description
The Minnesota Department of Health’s Office of Rural Health and Primary Care runs the Rural Clinical Rotations Grant Program. It funds existing eligible health-professions training programs to add, expand, or enhance rotations and clinical training experiences in rural Minnesota. Supported experiences can include rural-focused credentials, certificate rural tracks, and other specialized training.
The program creates opportunities for trainees in medicine, physician assistant practice, advanced practice nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, dental therapy, and mental health to gain experience in rural care settings. For physician and dentist training, expanded experiences must include rotations in primary care settings, such as community clinics, hospitals, health maintenance organizations, or rural practices.
