Description
The Rural County Grant, administered by the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity, gives rural county governments responsibility for planning and carrying out projects suited to their economic development needs. It is part of the Rural Opportunity Program, with oversight from the Rural Opportunity Advisory Committee.
Projects may address business recruitment, development, and expansion; workforce training and development; or infrastructure, industrial buildings, and capital facilities for business development. Counties develop their proposed work with advice from a County Economic Opportunity Advisory Board and approval from their county legislative body. The goal is to help counties act on local opportunities and improve their economies.
