Description
The Rural Highway/Railroad Crossing Surfacing Program is a federal aid initiative administered by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). It funds improvements to at-grade highway and railroad crossing surfaces on eligible rural road systems, including City Connecting Links in cities with populations up to 2,500. The program aims to upgrade crossing surfaces and install advanced safety features such as active flashing light and gate signal systems at the most critical locations, as determined by annual evaluations.
