Description
The Utah Department of Health and Human Services’ Rural Physician Loan Repayment Program helps physicians repay educational loans in exchange for at least two years of service at a rural Utah hospital. Administered through the Office of Primary Care and Rural Health, it supports physicians in primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, and internal medicine.
The program aims to strengthen access to care in rural communities. Participating physicians report on the patients they serve and their work’s impact, helping the office document the program’s outcomes.
