Description
The Rural Physicians Loan Repayment Program provides educational loan repayment assistance to physicians who contract to serve in rural Utah hospitals for at least two years. Funded by the Utah Department of Health and Human Services and administered by the Office of Primary Care and Rural Health (PCRH), the program connects state support and hospital matching funds with physicians’ service in rural communities.
The program supports primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, and internal medicine. Both full-time and part-time physicians may participate. Its goals include helping rural hospitals recruit and retain physicians and encouraging service in underserved Utah communities.
