Description
The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) administers RTAP using Federal Transit Administration Section 5311(b)(3) funding. Through its Public Transit Division, DRPT supports the design and implementation of training, technical-assistance projects, and other services for transportation operators in nonurbanized areas of Virginia.
RTAP scholarships help rural and specialized transit operations develop management skills and professional networks through transit training, seminars, workshops, and conferences. Scholarship-eligible activities include courses and driver rodeos, as well as training, technical assistance, research, and related support services.
