Rural Vitality Grants support the launch and establishment of new, ongoing programs and projects, as well as enhancements to existing services in rural communities. Funded through the generosity of Compeer Financial, the program is administered jointly by the Fond du Lac Area Foundation and Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation.
The program emphasizes initiatives that build organizational capacity, support multi-phase projects, and establish a foundation for continued success beyond the funding period. Multi-year proposals receive priority because of their alignment with long-term sustainability and impact. One-time grants also support distinct short-term initiatives, capital purchases, and immediate project needs. Approved areas include agriculture, essential community services, entrepreneurship, housing, leadership development, preK–12 education, and workforce development.
