    Description

    The Russian Overseas Flagship (ROF) is an immersive language and cultural training program for advanced learners of Russian, aimed at helping participants reach professional proficiency. The program is designed for undergraduate students enrolled at one of four U.S. Flagship universities and consists of a domestic preparatory component followed by a nine-month overseas capstone in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The overseas experience includes intensive formal coursework, individualized tutorials, direct enrollment university classes, conversation partners, excursions, homestays with Russian-speaking families, and professional internships. The ROF is part of The Language Flagship initiative, supported by the National Security Education Program (NSEP), and offers funding opportunities through Boren Awards.
