Description
SHAPE America awards the Ruth Abernathy Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships to outstanding student members majoring in health, physical education, recreation or dance. Developed by past presidents of the association, the scholarships have recognized deserving students since 1995. They support students’ continued education rather than a specific research project.
Each year, SHAPE America selects three undergraduate and two graduate recipients. The scholarships are presented at its National Convention & Expo in the spring, and recipients receive a complimentary three-year SHAPE America membership.
