Summary: Supports graduate students’ empirical research and demonstration projects addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion in behavior analysis.
Key Information: Applicants must be accepted into or enrolled in a graduate program with sufficient behaviorally oriented faculty to supervise the research.
The Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis (SABA) supports innovative graduate-level research on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in behavior analysis. Funding supports empirical studies and demonstration projects directly relevant to DEI, with questions important both within and outside the behavior analytic community. Projects must be informed at least partly by a behavior analytic perspective and may form part of a multidisciplinary approach.
Research may address any aspect of DEI: traits and characteristics that make people unique, fair treatment and equality of opportunity, or behaviors and social norms that help people feel welcome. Preference is given to substantive projects evaluating the impact of DEI efforts in community or organizational settings. The ABAI DEI Board administers the grant process, and the SABA Board of Directors selects recipients.
