Description
The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC), in partnership with the Safe Harbor for Sexually Exploited Children Commission, administers this competitive program to strengthen Georgia’s response to youth sexual exploitation. The program supports development, enhancement, and coordination of care, rehabilitation, housing, health, and social services, alongside awareness, prevention, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Three priority areas guide funding: residential treatment and safe home support, prevention and awareness, and community-based services supporting a statewide response. Activities include housing assistance, staff training, collaborative outreach, specialized forensic interviews, and data integration. Services must be trauma-informed, victim-centered, and culturally, linguistically, and developmentally appropriate. Priority consideration goes to secure transportation, legal remedies under the Survivors First Act, and medical services for expectant mothers.
