Description
The Sally Banes Publication Prize, offered by the American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR), honors a publication—either a book or essay—that best explores the intersections of theatre and dance/movement over the previous two calendar years. The prize alternates annually between books (even years) and essays (odd years). The award seeks to recognize innovative methodological approaches, critical or historical rigor, and the potential to inspire future scholarship that strengthens exchanges between theatre and dance/movement studies.
