Description
The Puget Sound Partnership funds Salmon Science Investigations each biennium through a competitive Request for Information (RFI). Developed with the Salmon Science Advisory Group, the solicitation addresses priority information needs for regional salmon recovery and supports the Puget Sound Salmon Recovery Plan.
Funded work has examined salmon health, contaminants and roadway runoff, hatchery strategies, juvenile habitat use, and the effects of restoration and climate change. The program has also supported research on salmon governance, Indigenous stewardship, and the trade-offs between fisheries and killer whale conservation. These investigations provide evidence for recovery planning and management decisions.
