Description
The Salomon Bartnicki-Garcia Award supports young mycologists working in fungal biochemistry, genetics, and cell biology. Offered by the Mycological Society of America (MSA) and administered by its Research Awards Committee, the award encourages students to continue participating in the Society and the wider mycological community.
The award honors Dr. Salomon Bartnicki-Garcia’s contributions to understanding the fungal cell through more than forty years of research in fungal biochemistry, cell structure, and theoretical biology. It was established through contributions from his colleagues and admirers, including Novozymes Inc., and reflects his influence on the careers of young scientists. Graduate students and undergraduates conducting senior honors research or its equivalent are eligible to apply.
