Description
Administered by the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) and supported by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, this program helps scholars prepare, complete, and publish research on Graeco-Roman art and architecture and the broader Mediterranean world of Classical antiquity. It supports publication preparation and research leading to publication, with an emphasis on bringing scholarly work into published form.
Supported activities include research toward an art historical monograph and publication costs such as image licensing. Work may take place at domestic or international universities, libraries, or study centers, or through excavation or preservation projects at Classical sites. The AIA Publication Subvention Committee administers the program and selects recipients.
