Description
The Sand Student Research Presentation Travel Award is offered by the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) to support women geoscience students in presenting their research at the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America (GSA). The award is intended to help defray costs related to travel, lodging, registration, and other expenses associated with participation in the GSA Annual Meeting. Named in honor of Virginia (Ginny) Sand, an influential geoscience educator and AWG supporter, the award recognizes her legacy and commitment to advancing women in geosciences.
