Description
The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources offers grants and low-interest loans for sanitary and storm sewer projects through the Board of Water and Natural Resources. Funding comes through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) and Consolidated Water Facilities Construction programs. Applicants should expect some funding to be a Clean Water SRF loan and meet that program’s requirements unless an exception applies.
The program supports wastewater treatment and storm water management infrastructure across South Dakota. Facilities planning examines current and future needs, feasible alternatives, costs, and environmental impacts. Grant assistance may also be considered for economic development opportunities, expansion into new areas, regionalization or consolidation of facilities, and other situations warranting special consideration.
