The Santa Fe Institute’s Complexity Postdoctoral Fellowship, comprising the Omidyar Fellowships, supports early-career scholars pursuing independent research on complex systems important to science and society. Fellows develop their own research agendas within a community that encourages collaboration across mathematics, physics, computer science, biology, the social sciences, and the humanities.
Fellows spend up to three years in residence at SFI in Santa Fe, New Mexico, collaborating with researchers from around the world. Research is primarily theoretical or computational, although it may include an empirical component; SFI does not have laboratory facilities. Alongside their research, fellows participate in structured leadership training designed to prepare them to become leaders in interdisciplinary science.
