--- ## Description The Sara Rickertsen Grant, administered by the Lexington Community Foundation, is designed to honor Sara Rickertsen by supporting projects that address the needs of individuals living with disabilities in the Lexington, Nebraska area. The grant aims to promote health, social and economic inclusion, access to education, professional training, employment, as well as sport, culture, and leisure activities for people with disabilities. Funding is provided to charitable projects that enhance the quality of life and inclusion of disabled individuals in the community. --- ## Due Dates - Applications are accepted at any time throughout the year (rolling deadline). - Funding decisions are made within one month of application submission. --- ## Funding Amount - Grants of up to $1,000 are awarded annually per project. - The number of grants distributed each year depends on the number of qualified applications received. --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be organizations directly involved in working with physically and/or mentally handicapped individuals in the Lexington area. - Organizations run by parents of children with disabilities are eligible and encouraged to apply. - Projects must benefit individuals with disabilities and may focus on: - Health - Social and economic inclusion - Access to education and professional training - Employment - Sport, culture, and leisure activities --- ## Application Process - Submit a completed application and a narrative description (not to exceed one page) to the Lexington Community Foundation office. - The narrative should include: - Purpose of the grant - How the project will positively impact individuals with disabilities - Timetable for the project - Applications are reviewed by the Rickertsen family and the LCF Grants Committee. - Funding decisions are communicated within one month of application receipt.
