    Description

The Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation offers medical students a year of intensive research training aimed at cultivating lasting enthusiasm for cardiovascular investigation and careers in research. The program supports basic, clinical, translational and epidemiologic investigations across cardiovascular and cerebrovascular sciences, including stroke, cardio-obstetrics, cardio-oncology, cardiometabolic disease, and cardiorenal and vascular medicine.

Fellows develop their own research project under a laboratory Preceptor, supported by a Scientific Committee Advisor and the Sarnoff alumni network. Research interests may span molecular and cellular biology, clinical trials, outcomes research, population science, biomarkers, physiology, health disparities, imaging, genetics, cardiovascular surgery, biomedical engineering, public policy, health economics and implementation science. Close scientific mentorship is central to the fellowship, with fellows taking responsibility for a project from hypothesis development through preparation of a manuscript.
