    Description

The Sayan Gul Award is a Cognitive Science Society award supporting outstanding undergraduates conducting cognitive science research. Introduced in 2019, it helps undergraduate presenting authors with travel-related costs for attending the Society’s Annual Conference. The award combines a cash payment with complimentary conference registration, linking its support directly to sharing undergraduate research with the cognitive science community.

The award honors Sayan Gul, a UC Berkeley undergraduate studying cognitive science and computer science who showed great potential as a cognitive scientist. He died tragically while traveling to the Society’s Annual Conference to present his research. The award was established in his memory to support similarly outstanding undergraduate researchers and their conference participation.
